A daddies' group based in Nishi ward, Kyoiku-kai and IMCY are going to hold a co-event in February to celebrate Setsubun and Carnival. Kids are going to make two festival masks. If the weather is okay, we are going to enjoy bean-throwing, which is one of the Setsubun traditions,  in the park nearby.

For IMCY cooking/eating lovers!!
We are going to have another cooking party in April, 2018!!

WHEN: Saturday, April 7th, 2018 (12:00-14:30) *the room is reserved a bit longer  

WHERE: Furocho Chiiki Care Plaza 3F Cooking room and Mutli Purpose room

(about 10 minutes from JR/Blue Line Kannai station or 5 minutes from Blue Line Isezaki Chojamachi station)

WHAT TO COOK: TBD Any ideas?

WHAT TO BRING: Towels, an apron (not obligatory), ziploc container or something in case we bring some food home, your kids and your husband if necessary (both are welcome).

CHARGE: We'll split the material cost.

1) Aroma Slime Making Trial

2) Hodogaya International Festa 2017

at 4F Iwama Shimin Plaza

IMCY team is going to have a booth as always. We are going to sell handmade/imported/second-hand items and having the Aroma Slime Workshop (the material cost will be charged).

*The workshop will be closed at 14:30~45. You don't need to make a reservation but since our time and material are limited, please come early to have a seat!

There are many more attractions, food stands and performances.

3) IMCY Cooking party

The Volunteer room is a sort of semi-open space, but they'll install a barrier to avoid little ones to get out. However, no baby-sitting this time, so please watch your children. 

The cooking room and the Volunteer room is on the same floor but not next to each other. And the cooking room is not very large, so we won't be able to have everyone cook at the sometime. 

Our plan is that adults prepare the crepes and children roll bean paste with them and cherry blossom leaves.

Won't you join us for crafts (Uchiwa fan making) and icing cookie decoration?

We are hosting an event for mothers and fathers in/around Yokohama. Let’s get together and build a relationship to help out each other and to make our lives happier.

In a collaboration with Hello Kids International school—recently opened in Tsurumi—we'll enjoy icing cookie decoration and Uchiwa fan-making (a perfect activity for summer).

While having fun with our children, we also hope to widen our cultural circle of families. Won't you join us?

Uchiwa fanｓ are a quintessential symbol of Japanese summer. Let's use a Uchiwa fan as a canvas and have fun drawing!
Children can make their own original Uchiwa fan by drawing whatever pattern or picture they like.

※ One Uchiwa fan will be provided for each child. You can take home your completed fan on the day.

[ACTIVITY REPORT] Deko Maki Sushi and Wagashi Workshop December 2014

IMCYは、12月11日に、デコ巻き寿司&和菓子ワークショップを開催しました。今回も西地区センターの調理室をお借りしての開催となりました。(この活動は「にこまち助成金」の交付を受けています。)　今回は、前半にデコ巻き寿司、続いて和菓子という2本立てで、初めての試みでした。

IMCY held a Deko Maki Sushi & Wagashi (Japanese confection) workshop on December 11th, 2014 at Nishi Chiku Center. This activity was supported by Nikomachi Subsidy. This time we learned the Deko Maki Sushi in the first half and then wagashi in the latter half, and it was our first experience to have two sessions at one time.

デコ巻き寿司はペンギン、そして和菓子は雪だるま（スノーマン）を作りました。これらの柄は、IMCYのFacebook groupにおけるメンバーの投票によって選ばれたものです。

We learned Penguin face sushi and Snowman-shaped wagashi. These two motifs were chosen by the IMCY Facebook members by voting.

調理室には小さい子どもが入れないということもあり、別室保育にて行われました。参加者の皆さんが、同じ調理台の人たちとおしゃべりをしながら、楽しそうに作っていらしたのがとても印象的です。

Children were with babysitters in the room next-door, which was also because young children are not allowed in the kitchen. Participants seemed to enjoy making sushi and wagashi and chatting with people at the same table.

今回ご協力いただきました保育ボランティアの皆さん、IMCYスタッフそして参加者の皆さんに感謝申し上げます。

[IMCY ACTIVITY REPORT] Deko Maki Sushi Workshop #4

 

 

IMCYは、10月3日に、昨年から引き続き4回目となるデコ巻き寿司ワークショップを開催しました。今回は西地区センターの調理室をお借りしての開催となりました。(この活動は「にこまち助成金」の交付を受けています。)　今回もたくさんのご応募があり、多くの方々に興味を持っていただけたことを、とても嬉しく思います。

今回は基本の花を作りました。ピンクの花びらはおぼろで着色し、中心はスティックチーズ、野沢菜で緑を添えたデザインです。

ほとんどの方がデコ巻き初挑戦にもかかわらず、皆さんとても素敵に仕上げられていました。

 

先生には、これからの時期に使える、ジャク・オー・ランタンの作り方も教えていただきました。着色にはなんと、子供向けのレトルトカレーを使用。かわいくて、おいしいお寿司は、子供にうけること間違いなし！ですね。

 

保育スタッフの皆さんの協力もあり、ママたちは同じテーブルの方々と交流しながら、とてもにぎやかに、楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。

 

参加して下さった皆さん、保育スタッフ、IMCYのボランティアスタッフに心から感謝いたします。

Daikanyama Tsutaya Books shop has a handmade workshop regularly. At the next one, they'll make a pen/fan case.

[IMCY Activity] 無料保育付き♪Workshop & 交流会 2014年夏

国籍や言葉の壁をこえて、地域のママ・プレママがワークショップを通して交流し、日々の生活を
より楽しく快適に、困った時には助け合えるようにと企画しました。同室又は別室での無料保育付きなので、お子さんと一緒でも安心です♪

今夏の内容は、茶道体験（6/12）、和菓子作り（6/26）、ベビーマッサージ＆親子ヨガ（7/17） です。色々な国のママと一緒にワークショップを楽しみながら、ママたち同士の繋がりを作りませんか？日本の文化について改めて触れる機会にもなればと考えています。
