[ACTIVITY REPORT]Wagashi（Japanese Confections）Workshop & Gathering #2 on June 26th,2014.

IMCYは2014年6月26日に和菓子ワークショップ＆交流会を開催しました。

今回の会場は横浜駅西口から徒歩１２分の場所にある西地区センター。
参加予定の方は皆さん来て下さり、時刻通りに始めさせて頂けました。

料理室では、４つのグループ（参加者４人+ＩＭＣＹのスタッフ１名）にわかれて
夏らしい錦玉と朝顔の練り切りを作りました。
錦玉は４人での共同作業だったこともあり、自然と会話が生まれ、おしゃべりが盛り上がっていました。
朝顔の練り切りは、とても作り方がシンプルなのですが、色合いや形に個性がでますね。
また今回は学校がお休みの時期ということもあり、2人の外国につながる子が参加してくれました。一人はイギリスからの十代の女の子、そしてもう一人は７歳の男の子。

保育のお部屋では、１４名のお子さんと５名の保育スタッフ、３名のＩＭＣＹスタッフが２時間一緒に過ごしました。家族以外にお子さんを預けるのははじめてというママも多く、最初は子どもたちの大きな泣き声も。おやつをたべたり１階にあるプレイルームにも遊びに行ったりして少しずつ慣れてくれました。

印象的だったのは、保育に預けた２時間前のママのお顔とお迎えにきたママたちのお顔が全然違っていたこと。
新しく繋がったママとおしゃべりしながら、笑顔で活き活きとした表情になっていました。
ランチにも６名のママが参加してくださり、とてもうれしかったです。

今回の企画が子育て中のママたちにとって、ちょっとした息抜きや新しいつながりの場になったらうれしいです。
参加して下さった皆さん、ボランティアスタッフの皆さん、そして先生に深く感謝致します。

IMCY held Wagashi Workshop & Gathering #2 on June 26th,2014.

This time, the venue was Nishi Chiku Center, 12-minute walk from the West Gate of Yokohama station.
It was wonderful that there was full attendance and we started on time.

In the cooking room, the participants were divided into 4 groups (4 people each and 1 IMCY staff member) and made Kingyoku( beautiful Japanese seaweed-based agar jelly) and a morning-glory shaped Nerikiri.
To make Kingyoku,participants worked together in a group,so naturally they started chatting.Ｍorning-glory shaped Nerikiri was very simple to make, but each had its individuality / originality in the color and shape.
It was also nice to have two young participants, because they were already in vacation: a teenage girl from UK and a 7-year-old boy.

In the nursary room, 14 children, 5 babysitters and 3 IMCY staff members spent 2 hours together.
There were some mothers who left their child with babysitters for the first time. No wonder that many children were crying hard at the beginning.But they gradually calmed down and got used to the new circumstance by going down to another playroom or having snacks.

We were impressed by the lively and smily faces of mothers after the workshop where they met new friends and enjoyed cooking together. We were also glad to have had lunch with some moms after the workshop.

It would be great if this workshop provided mothers with a place to refresh and to make new friends.We would like to show our deep gratitude to the participants, volunteer staff, and the instructor.
